Wrinkles and lines aren’t the only signs of aging. Over time, the cheeks flatten, and the skin may begin to sag. This is caused by a natural loss of volume in the cheek area, or what the experts call age-related midface volume loss. Juvéderm Voluma® XC is designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface to lift and contour the cheek area.
Juvéderm Voluma® XC, tends to have longer-lasting results than Juvederm®. If you’re struggling with the effects of aging, but are not sure which product is right for you, we will be able to tell you during a free consultation at our cosmetic dermatology office, Allure Aesthetics, in Boca Raton.
The best way to determine whether Juvéderm Voluma® XC is capable of giving you the results you desire is to view results.
Heather Schwartzmann PA-C’s expertise in applying injectables makes her among the Juvéderm® and Juvéderm Voluma® XC specialists in South Florida.
“Theres a fine line between knowing when to use Juvéderm® or Juvéderm Voluma® XC,” Schwartzmann says, “and not every practitioner knows when that is. You have to grow to know the products inside and out. And that’s something I definitely know.”
Heather will work with you to establish a plan, ensuring that each step taken has an exact purpose to enhance the natural beauty in your face. In the world of Juvéderm® injections, Heather Schwartzmann PA-C and Allure Aesthetics of Boca Raton set the standard.
Prior to your procedure you will be asked to avoid certain medications and herbal supplements for two weeks. These substances can increase bleeding which in turn will cause bruising.
Before any Juvéderm or Juvéderm Voluma® XC injections, patients are asked to avoid taking the following substances for at least two weeks:
Arrive for your treatment well fed to avoid having to eat or chew for a few hours. This will help the gel to settle exactly where Heather Schwartzmann PA-C has placed it. Avoid applying makeup for a few hours to let the skin breathe.
All treatments begin with a medical history review and a consultation to discuss your desired results, expectations, and to come up with a plan. We will give you a handout of things to do or avoid after your treatments.
Juvéderm Voluma® XC is injected into the skin in a simple and quick treatment performed by a licensed healthcare provider using a fine-gauge needle. You can either sit or recline during treatment.
The entire appointment should take less than an hour, including time for a consultation.
After treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising, headache and itching at the injection site or tenderness. These are typically mild in severity and normally last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14–18 days in lips. Swelling may be more likely in patients under 36 years, and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years.
Juvéderm Voluma® XC lasts for different lengths of time in different people, depending upon where it is injected. In areas where there is less movement of the skin such as tear troughs and cheeks, Juvéderm Voluma® XC will last for nine months to one year. In areas where there is more movement, such as the nasolabial folds (smile lines), Juvéderm Voluma® XC tends to last for about six to nine months. The lips have the most movement, and fillers tend to last four to six months in this area.
The results also vary from person to person depending on metabolism, water intake, exercise, vitamins, and various other personal factors.
That said,Juvéderm Voluma® XC is the only filler proven to last up to 2 years in the cheek area. And, when treated again after 2 years, patients needed less product to achieve their results.
